Description

Working directly with the Vice President of Development, the Development Coordinator will help implement the organizational development plan and identify, secure, and grow individual and institutional funder/donor relationships for 9to5 and 9to5 Action Fund. This position is responsible for growing and diversifying revenue through donor engagement, grant acquisition,database management, special events, and partnerships. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a passion for nonprofit work and a track record of successful fundraising.

Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Donor Management and Stewardship: Managing relationships with donors, ensuring timely acknowledgments, and maintaining accurate records in donor databases. Help lead and advise donor and member communication, cultivation, and stewardship activities and calendar. Support creation and implementation of donor development/outreach publications and materials, including appeal letters, newsletters, annual reports, and digital elements using Action Network, social media, and other methods. Lead implementation of our grassroots fundraising campaigns, including support and coordination for our team of 9to5 staff, board, and member fundraisers. Help lead stewardship and communications to support, administer, and expand 9to5’s sustainer program.

Data Management and Analysis: Utilizing donor management systems, such as Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge and Civi to track contributions, analyze donor trends, and generate reports to inform fundraising strategies.

Grant Writing and Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of grant proposals and reports to foundations and other funding entities, ensuring compliance with deadlines and requirements.​ Maintain grants management, including a database, calendar of grant proposals, and report deadlines for 9to5 and 9to5 Action Fund; verify that proposals and reports have been received and appropriate follow-up has occurred; file documents electronically.

Fundraising Campaign Coordination: Planning and executing fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online appeals, and special events to meet revenue goals.​ Assist with implementing the development plan with the VP of Development, Co-President’s and Leadership Team. Contribute to long-term resource planning and implementation with staff/leadership team. Help to incorporate an anti-oppression, race and gender justice, and community-centric fundraising lens into 9to5’s development programs. Develop & refine fundraising-related messaging and materials for funders, donors, staff, and members. Assist with cultivating foundation relationships through scheduling meetings with funders and grants prospecting and research for 9to5 and 9to5 Action Fund. Track and evaluate fundraising plans and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with donors and internal teams

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice

  • Familiarity with donor databases and CRM systems; experience with Salesforce, Bloomerang, iWave and Candid is a strong plus

  • Proficiency in standard office software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.)

  • CFRE certification or working toward certification is a plus.

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with a salary of $65,505.88, with generous family health insurance, employer retirement contribution, life insurance, and paid time off benefits including sick time, vacation time, personal time, and 10 paid holidays annually. This is a hybrid position with travel required.
