Description

The Senior Associate, Stewardship & Engagement plays a critical role in implementing our strategic plan to advance the Principal and Major Gifts team’s ambitious revenue, upgrade, retention, acquisition, and growth goals. Developing the principal and major gifts communications program, the role creates and executes a wide range of donor touchpoints that deepen engagement and demonstrate impact, in addition to annual fundraising appeals.

Working in close collaboration with major gift officers, channel managers, the Data Science and Analytics team, external agencies, and others to implement a blend of personalized cultivation, appeals, and stewardship activities for 1,500+ donors giving $25K+ annually, including the production of personalized acknowledgements, recognition, and impact reports. The role drives integration by implementing cross-channel campaigns and automated journeys that include mail, email, digital advertising, and events for principal and major donors.

Responsibilities

DEPARTMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prospecting

Pursue strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF-USA´s strategy, that create long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.

Donor Cultivation, Engagement and Management

Build trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.

Fundraising

Secure reliable, sustainable, and efficient resources in alignment with MSF-US commitments.

Brand Positioning

Drive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.

Best-in-Class Fundraising Systems and Capabilities

Deploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.

ROLES SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

Project Management

Deliver small-scale or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.

Marketing Execution

Execute a marketing plan for a particular product, service, or specialty area while working within established marketing systems.

Donor Experience Mapping

Perform and implement techniques such as voice of the donor initiatives, journey mapping, and qualitative touchpoint analysis to identify donor pain points, challenges, and hurdles.

Donor Renewals

Help drive donor renewals through exceptional service, supporting the sales teams as required.

Fundraising Events Development and Design

Manages the development and execution of fundraising events, including ideation, planning, and business case development. Fosters relationships with diverse content creators and fundraisers to align their interests with organizational goals, and manages post-event reports and analysis to measure success. These core accountabilities should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this job. Requirements

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

At a minimum, the Job Holder should possess

  • Minimum of three years relevant experience with high-value fundraising/stewardship.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in stewardship and engagement materials.

  • Experience planning and executing donor events, managing budgets, timelines, logistics, and aligning with organizational goals.[KS4.1]

  • proven eye for graphics, storytelling, messaging and sophisticated marketing to a high-value audience.

  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills.

  • Track record of developing and maintaining business relationships, showing openness to new ideas, making decisive and sound judgments.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) or similar CRM platforms, with the ability to navigate donor records, generate reports, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends, particularly in high-value donor engagement.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting to evaluate donor engagement strategies and outcomes.


Salary Range and Employee Benefits

$78,399 to $117,599

In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are generally offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
