About the Organization
Since 1979, the Crisis Center for South Suburbia (CCSS) has provided a safe haven for those families and individuals forced to flee the violence of their homes. Today, in addition to providing immediate safety, CCSS offers an array of comprehensive services to help people gain independence and enable children to learn how to process the violence they have experienced in their young lives. The organization provides emergency shelter, housing, counseling, advocacy, prevention, and education services in the south suburbs of Chicago. These services are survivor-centered, trauma-informed, empowering, transforming, and lifesaving. All services offered to victims of domestic violence are provided at no charge.
