Description

The Grant Writer plays a key role in advancing our mission by producing and submitting compelling grant proposals as well managing grant reporting compliance for successful submissions. This position is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals; monitoring compliance and reporting; and keeping clear administrative processes and documentation for the key activities listed above.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communications, nonprofit management, business, or similar) or equivalent

  • 2-4 years on the job experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in grant writing preferred; preferably in a non-profit setting. merit, and business needs.


Responsibilities

Grant Writing and Prospecting

  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry in collaboration with the executive director and key staff

  • Track upcoming deadlines, maintain grant calendar, and prepare timely grant submissions.

  • Conduct grant prospecting to identify new funding opportunities that align with organizational priorities.

  • Maintain clear documentation and records of all proposals

Grant Compliance and Reporting

  • Monitor and manage grant agreements to ensure compliance with requirements in collaboration with designated staff

  • Support the tracking of required deliverables, key metrics, and reporting deadlines.

  • Prepare interim and final grant reports in collaboration with executive director, program and finance staff.

  • Assist with data entry to ensure grant activities are documented within the fund development strategies

Other Duties

  • Support additional responsibilities aligned with the role and organizational priorities, in coordination with management

Estimated Distribution of Duties

  • 60% Grant Writing and Prospecting

  • 20% Grant Compliance and Reporting

  • 20% Administrative Support


Requirements

Required Skills

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills

  • Experience with donor databases/CRM systems

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

  • Self-starter that takes initiative to anticipate needs

  • Solutions oriented to find effective paths forward

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with vendors, team members, and other stakeholders

  • Proficiency in softwares including but not limited to Slack, Monday.com, and Google Suite

  • Strong project management skills

  • Willingness to learn and grow with staff, and to create a positive workplace culture

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams

Physical Requirements

  • Hybrid work environment (mainly remote)

  • Frequent telephonic and virtual communications, hearing and seeing

  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting

  • Frequent driving

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary

  • Access to reliable transportation


Salary Range and Employee Benefits

$60,000 to 85,000
