Description

The Senior Manager, Individual Giving will be responsible for advancing CLC’s individual giving program by ensuring that individual donors and prospects are thoughtfully engaged and moved toward deeper investment in CLC’s mission. The Senior Manager will manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects ($10k-$99.9k), ensuring consistent cultivation and stewardship. The Senior Manager will assume primary responsibility for qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding new and existing individual prospects generated through events and outreach efforts. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Development; Senior Manager, Donor Relations and Events; and Senior Manager, Data and Analytics to build and maintain a sustainable and diverse funding portfolio. The Vice President of Development has responsibility for principal gifts of $100,000 and above..

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular reviews of existing individual fundraisers’ portfolios and the annual fund portfolio to assess donor readiness and giving potential. Develop and implement strategies to appropriately segment and move donors through the stewardship continuum from annual fund to mid-level gifts, and from mid-level to principal gifts.

  • Recommend and facilitate the reassignment of donors into the appropriate portfolios, including elevating high-capacity prospects to the Vice President of Development for principal gift cultivation.

  • Ensure clear ownership, coordinated strategy, and consistent movement of donors across all stages of engagement.

  • Review attendee lists from past and current donor events to identify, qualify, and strategically assign new donors and prospects. Assess engagement, capacity, and alignment with CLC’s mission to determine appropriate portfolio placement.

  • Partnering directly with Senior Manager, Events and Donor Relations and VP Development, ensure timely follow-up and coordinated outreach for all event-generated donors and prospects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of mid-level ($10k-$99.9k) individual donors and family/community foundation funders and prospects, cultivating and stewarding them to maintain and increase gifts. Identify prospects for larger gifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher. Minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably within a mission-driven organization, including conducting face-to-face solicitations

  • Proven success in securing five and six-figure gifts from individuals and family foundations

  • Demonstrated donor cultivation and stewardship skills

  • Familiarity with donor databases (Raiser's Edge preferred)

  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with senior leadership

  • A deep commitment to CLC's mission of advancing democracy through legal reform

Salary Range and Employee Benefits

Salary Range: $110,776 - $149,875
