Description
The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing all contributed revenue for TGTHR, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation support, and government grants. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director manages the Grants Manager and directly oversees donor stewardship, campaigns, and partnerships, ensuring that TGTHR meets ambitious fundraising goals and builds long-term sustainability. This role balances strategic vision with hands-on fundraising.
The Director of Development will cultivate and solicit gifts across the donor spectrum, guide the grants portfolio, steward donors and partners, and collaborate with the COO, CEO, Marketing Director, and Board of Directors to strengthen TGTHR’s culture of philanthropy and advance the mission to end youth homelessness. This position is based in Boulder, with some flexibility for remote work. The role also includes work in the Denver market, where TGTHR has a program site and is expanding community and donor relationships. Evening and weekend commitments are required for donor engagement and events.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement annual and multi-year strategies to secure contributed revenue and in-kind support.
Manage a personal portfolio of donors at all levels, building strong relationships through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Oversee and support the Grants Manager in proposal development, submissions, renewals, and reporting.
Lead corporate partnership development, including sponsorships, workplace giving, and volunteer activations.
Collaborate with the Marketing Director to design and execute annual fund campaigns, Colorado Gives Day, and year-end appeals.
Coordinate TGTHR’s annual community event as well as donor stewardship events, ensuring they are mission-driven, well-executed, and designed to deepen engagement with supporters.
Ensure consistent donor stewardship experiences that align with TGTHR’s mission and values.
Strategically partners with program teams to embed fundraising initiatives into program design and execution, ensuring development efforts are directly tied to mission outcomes and impact.
Provide regular progress reports to the COO, CEO, and Board of Directors.
Partner with the COO and CEO on transformational gifts and strategic donor engagement.
Maintain accurate donor and campaign data in Salesforce, ensuring integrity and effective reporting.
Represent TGTHR at community events, donor gatherings, and in key philanthropic networks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated success across contributed revenue streams (individuals, corporations, foundations, government).
Strong track record in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship at all levels.
Minimum 2 years in a team lead role with direct staff supervision.
Experience securing institutional support from foundations and government agencies.
Proficiency in donor CRM systems (Salesforce preferred). -Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
Commitment to TGTHR’s mission and to ongoing learning around equity, social justice, and youth homelessness.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Availability for evening and weekend work.
Salary Range and Employee Benefits
$90,000-100,000
