Description
The Director of Development will provide leadership and guidance to our fundraising strategy, working closely with the Executive Director. The Director will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan for continued growth. Currently, One On One’s budget is $2M annually and is funded through a mix of individual donations, grants, and corporate partnerships. As our work has grown, we recognize the need to invest further in fundraising infrastructure specifically focused on unrestricted funding. This is a competitive opportunity for a development professional who is passionate about building and implementing innovative strategies to realize social impact.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraging relationship-based fundraising strategies to achieve overall funding goals, with a particular focus on individual giving. A successful candidate should be an outgoing relationship-builder with a track record of progressive development management experience and of achieving or exceeding fundraising goals. This is a hybrid position with two days per week on site. The deadline for applications is June 8, 2025 at 5pm.
Responsibilities
Leadership
Develop and execute strategic fundraising strategy aligned with One On One’s fundraising targets and mission.
Develop reporting mechanisms on fundraising KPI’s and manage delivery of reports with support from the Executive Director. Report on fundraising achievements at monthly Fundraising Committee board calls, and quarterly at board meetings.
Serve as staff co-chair to the Board of Directors Fundraising Committee and support the donor engagement efforts of all board members.
Serve on the leadership team of the organization along with the Director of Programs, Senior Director of Partnerships, and the Executive Director.
Strategy
Create and implement multiyear development strategy inclusive of engaging individual donors, foundations, and corporate giving partners.
Support Board, ED and senior staff in their efforts to build and strengthen donor and prospect relationships with strategic focus on long term fundraising goals.
Translate annual organizational fundraising goals into concrete plans with key metrics for success.
Build upon current recurring giving programs as key element of fundraising strategy.
Fundraising Strategy Implementation
Identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of 75 high-capacity donors, presenting regular reports to the Executive Director on progress towards fundraising goals.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individual giving campaigns, corporate giving campaigns, and multi-year giving commitments.
Support the Executive Director and Board of Directors to solicit major donors and prospects.
Develop and execute a planned giving program and formalize the current monthly giving program, setting goals for evaluation with support from the E.D.
Conduct research and direct outreach to prospects to expand donor pipeline. Serve as internal expert directing diversified fundraising strategies and techniques to meet financial goals.
Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement efforts.
Provide strategic guidance to contracted grant writer with an emphasis on six-figure plus grant opportunities.
Develop donor communications, including collateral, digital fundraising campaigns, acknowledgements, and report structures.
Rigorously track and evaluate fundraising performance, using results of analysis to adjust strategy.
Donor Relations
Establish an annual fund program, ensuring strong donor experience.
Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift individual donors (75+ donors).
Implement a structured approach to donor relations that involves planning and executing specific actions to move donors through the specified donor pipeline.
Identify opportunities to engage donors, volunteers, and board members.
Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of fundraising activities in CRM, currently Salesforce NPSP.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in fundraising with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fundraising leadership role.
Experience setting and executing against a comprehensive fundraising strategy required.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets with a minimum individual goal of $500,000.
Proven experience leading the successful obtainment of 6-figure plus donations
Motivated by the opportunity to generate direct impact through our mission, flexible, and a self-starter.
Advanced technical and financial skills including Microsoft office, Google Suite, Canva, etc.
CRM database experience required, Salesforce experience preferred.
Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate to a variety of audiences.
Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse teams.
Creative problem solver who routinely thinks ‘outside of the box’.

Salary Range and Employee Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000, commensurate with experience.
One On One offers employer-sponsored health insurance and 401(K) subject to a vesting schedule, and generous time off including an annual office closure between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. This is an exempt position with occasional evening and weekend hours.
