Description
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this newly created part-time role will lead the fundraising and engagement necessary to support and financially grow collabCLE. The specific goals for the Director of Development are: To support the growth of Collaborate Cleveland’s organizational budget by increasing and diversifying revenue streams.
Current annual revenue is approximately $750k with a goal of increasing to $900k by EOY 2028 and $1M in sustained annual operating revenue in 2029 and beyond. Ensure that all fundraising practices are sustainable, innovative, and aligned with both our organization’s values and community-centric fundraising principles. Develop ways to ensure fundraising efforts and operations and integrated into the day-to-day of the organization.
Responsibilities
Institutional giving
Research potential new funding partners (foundations, corporations, DAFs)
Support ED in cultivating new funding partner
Support ED in relationships with current funding partners Lead grant writing and grant reporting in close collaboration with the Executive Director.
Track funding relationships and milestones in Collaborate Cleveland’s donor CRM (Neon One)
Manage annual grant calendar and ensure timely submission of all deliverables
Events
Lead all aspects of Collaborate Cleveland’s annual fundraiser, the Women’s Breakfast, including:
Event theme and goals
Event planning
Sponsorships, ticket and table sales
Ensure consistency with collabCLE values and culture
Execute a successful event
Event follow-up Re-imagining the event if/as necessary
Think through and propose other potential opportunities for fundraising events or to weave fundraising into current events.
Individual Giving
Build authentic relationships with current Partners (engaged donors + doers), donors and board members.
Work closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement to support the annual partner pledge process, pledge fulfillments, and to identify ways to increase current Partner giving and activating their networks
Support the Board of Directors in their fundraising efforts.
Lead all aspects of the end of year campaign, including:
Campaign theme, goals, timeline and content
Segment donor lists and align messaging and strategies to deepen engagement
Execute a successful campaign
Campaign follow-up
Develop and execute a strategy to grow individual giving, including through new donors and new Partners.
Development Operations
Develop and manage all aspects of the donor CRM, Neon Manage development workflows and integration into organization
Manage donor and Partner communications, including acknowledgement and appreciation notes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
At least 5 - 7 years of experience in fundraising, including proven track record soliciting and securing five- and six‐figure gifts
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and maintain attention to detail
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive donor information
Commitment to gender justice
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google Workspace, donor management systems and data-driven decision-making
Ability to collaborate and motivate diverse constituencies including major donors, community leaders, and volunteers

Salary Range and Employee Benefits
$45,000–$50,000 annually (20 hours per week, hybrid schedule)
