About the Organization
The Brigid Alliance (501c3) is a nation-wide practical support organization that provides client centered support to individuals who must travel long distances for later abortion care, and who cannot afford to do so. We customize and fund itineraries that include transportation, lodging, connections to volunteers, meals, childcare reimbursement; and support our clients by staying in touch with them throughout their travels. We work in partnership with independent and nationally affiliated clinics, abortion funds, local and regional practical support organizations.
Since launching in August of 2018, we have assisted over 2,000 individuals and families from 45 states. We are a crucial part of the reproductive health ecosystem connecting the geographic and metaphorical dots between policy, providers, practice, and patient. By alleviating the logistical barriers and financial obstacles of access to care, we are working to ensure that everyone has access to abortion care, no matter where they live.
