Description
The Center for Fiction seeks a Development Manager to oversee the implementation of its fundraising strategy. Working closely with the Director of Development, this role manages significant development projects, donor communications and operations, including the full grant lifecycle. The Development Manager is organized and detail oriented and a strong writer and communicator. This position supervises an Administrative Assistant in the Development department and ensures that work is carried out smoothly and on time.
Responsibilities
Oversee development operations with support of Administrative Assistant, including: donor and gift records, reporting, gift receipt and acknowledgement, and more.
Project manage components of the Annual Awards Benefit and the First Novel Fête, driving $1M+ in contributed revenue.
Manage the organization's grants, including research and prospecting, the grant calendar, and proposal and report preparation and submission. Write strong and compelling grants.
Manage special projects in the Development department, including programmatic sponsorships, annual giving campaigns, and more.
Create and maintain written fundraising collateral and donor materials.
Supervise the Development Administrative Assistant.
Requirements
5 years of work experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
Experience in grants management, research, proposals, grant writing, and reporting.
Proven track record of successfully managing projects and realizing goals and deadlines.
Sophisticated understanding of grants, giving campaigns, and special event logistics.
Experience in a supervisory role.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Salary Range and Employee Benefits
Salary begins at $66,500
