Description

GWC’s Development department is seeking a charismatic and goals-driven Partner Development Manager. The Manager reports to the Senior Manager of New Business and will work cross-functionally to identify, cultivate, solicit and secure new corporate partners at the 5 to 6-figure level to reach annual multi-million dollar revenue goals.

Strong writing, organization, and presentation skills are key as the Manager will create compelling outreach campaigns, lead prospective partnership pitch meetings, compose partnership proposals, draft external-facing materials (such as sponsorship decks and one-pagers), and in relentless pursuit of achieving financial goals.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years experience in corporate fundraising or sales, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses strong pitching skills. They can work independently and manage multiple priorities without losing sight of details while being adaptable when shifts are needed at the team, leadership, and organizational level.

They have a desire to learn and grow as a member of a multifaceted and highly collaborative development department, while contributing positively to team culture and committed to our mission and the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This role is NYC based and requires 2 days in-office per week.

Responsibilities

Revenue Goals and Benchmarks

  • Is responsible for raising between $1-$3M annually through new corporate partnerships.

  • Contributes to the development of, and is responsible for the achievement of personal quarterly and annual benchmarks to ensure financial goals are met

Identify and Cultivate Corporate Prospects

  • Identifies, researches, and qualifies potential prospects - Uses prospecting resources to support building corporate prospect pipelines

  • Uses mass communication strategies and tools to prepare and conduct cold, warm, and lapsed outreach campaigns

  • Implements moves management strategies to cultivate relationships with prospective partners to secure new sponsorships at the 5-figure and higher level

Create and Present Partnership Proposals/Pitches

  • Negotiate and Close Deals

  • Prepares clear, persuasive, engaging email content, pitch decks, sales assets, corporate foundation grant applications, concept papers and other deliverables for use in prospect outreach and meetings

  • Prepares and contributes support materials such as agendas and briefings for external prospect and donor meetings, and internal strategy meetings

  • Creates pitch scripts, aligned with both Program and Marketing team messaging and voice

  • Leads pitching on existing, new, and future programs, products, campaigns, and opportunities to external stakeholders

Collaborate with Internal Teams

  • Collaborates with Development team members in support of key partnership/program strategies, communications, data gathering, and processes, etc.

  • Works with Program colleagues and senior leadership to fully understand program needs and discover areas of potential programming growth that can lead to sponsorship or new partnership opportunities

  • Collaborates closely with Marketing team to align on cause marketing and brand partnership opportunities

  • Facilitates and prepares discovery and pitch meetings and materials for CEO and/or CDO, along with preparing them for external events such as conferences, speaking engagements, or networking opportunities

Performance Tracking and Reporting

  • Manages and ensures data integrity for managing prospective lead lists, tracking moves management, partnership proposals, and onboarding newly secured partners using CRM, shared drive documentation, and project management tools

  • Utilizes analytics, internal data/reporting, and industry trends to develop and implement improvements that drive efficiency in strategies and approaches for reaching, securing and growing corporate partnerships for the team and assigned projects

Requirements

  • Proven track record in closing 5-6 figure plus sales, partnerships, or sponsorships;

  • Minimum 4 years direct experience building and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective corporate leads

  • Possess skills in strategically analyzing where opportunity exists and able to suggest creative tactics to leverage those opportunities to secure partnerships and viable prospective leads

  • Knowledge of tactics to drive corporate lead generation, corporate prospect profiling, and alignment on budget cycles

  • Familiarity and interest in drafting and deploying mass outbound communication as a critical tool to drive revenue

  • Excellent cold pitching, presenting, persuasive writing, negotiating and closing skills

  • Ability to use data and creative and strategic thinking in sponsorship development

  • Proven experience building multifaceted sponsorships that include: cause marketing, employee volunteerism, program support, events, public relations, social media, etc.

  • Must be comfortable managing multiple high priorities at once

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a highly collaborative team environment

  • Proactive self-starter, motivated by goals, curious to interrogate data or trends or tactics

  • Passion for our mission to close the gender gap in technology fields through a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Proficiency with Zoominfo, iWave, Yesware, Google Workspace, Trello, and Salesforce

  • strongly preferred or comparable systems and an aptitude for learning new tools


Salary Range and Employee Benefits

Minimum salary $65,000
Maximum salary $83,000

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Girls Who Code, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
