Description
The Director of Development (DoD) offers a dynamic opportunity to drive meaningful philanthropic impact at one of the nation’s leading academic health science centers. Serving as the chief fundraiser for these colleges, the director partners directly with deans and senior leadership to shape and execute bold fundraising strategies, secure major gifts and strengthen long-term donor relationships.
Responsibilities
With a strong emphasis on one-on-one engagement, the role includes national travel to meet with key alumni, donors and prospects and to coordinate high-impact events that connect stakeholders with the visions and priorities. The director is responsible for advancing cultivation strategies, closing gifts and building a robust pipeline of future support to meet the evolving needs of each college.
Beyond frontline fundraising, the director leads efforts to mobilize alumni and volunteer boards in support of strategic initiatives, working closely with board leadership, alumni affairs and annual giving teams to create coordinated engagement and giving opportunities.
This role also leads efforts to engage new supporters and network within corporate and community organizations to create new partnerships and raise awareness of the colleges’ needs. The director drives special fundraising projects and campus-wide initiatives in partnership with the Vice Chancellor and ensures consistent stewardship, reporting and donor communications. With a focus on strategy, relationship-building and impact, this is an exceptional opportunity for a driven, mission-aligned fundraising leader to elevate healthcare education and research through philanthropy.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience, preferably in health science, higher education, healthcare or a related field of philanthropy. Experience working with leadership and a comfort managing competing priorities is a must.
Salary Range and Employee Benefits
$95,000-$100,000
