Description
Restore seeks an Institutional Giving Manager (IG Manager) to join its Development team as a key contributor to the overall fundraising goals of the organization.
The IG Manager will be mission-driven, an initiator, and a creative problem-solver. This role reports directly to the Chief Philanthropy Officer. The IG Manager will help grow and diversify financial support for Restore’s institutional giving through fundraising, relationship management, and administrative oversight of Restore’s current institutional 25+ government and foundation supporters. The IG Manager will also be responsible for the proposal process, submission, reporting, and management of grants. This role works cross-functionally with Restore’s program teams to capture program outcomes and narratives for grant reports. IG Manager works with the Grants Finance Manager to produce required financial documentation such as budgets for each grant application and report.
The ideal candidate will: 1) have experience researching and prospecting foundations for justice or human services based organizations; 2) have experience submitting grant proposals or working with institutional funders; 3) have exceptional project management (be detail-oriented with a track record of meeting concurrent deadlines); 4) be a strong communicator, writer, and editor with experience creating proposal narratives; 5) have a track record of developing funder relationships with foundations, government, and corporate business partners, and 6) a passion for working collaboratively across departments to drive impact.
Responsibilities
Fund Portfolio Management
Responsible for a portfolio of funders with a giving range up to $50,000
Prospect, research, outreach, and complete submissions to Family Foundations and other potential funders within the $25,000-$50,000 giving range, in order to grow number of partners and portfolio revenue.
Responsible for the grant writing, submission and cultivation process for New York City Council and New York State funding opportunities, including scheduling and attending meetings with Council Members
Manage the reporting process (including calendar of reporting, report content development, coordinating with appropriate program and finance staff, and report submission) for all Institutional Giving partners
In partnership with key senior leadership, provide impeccable stewardship to partners and external stakeholders to deepen their commitment to and investment in Restore
Analyze portfolio performance and make recommendations for strengthening revenue outcomes
Project Management
Manage collaborative, cross-functional processes, such as grant reporting and weekly cross team IG meeting for all grants
Work closely with program, operations, and finance teams in executing on grants
In partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, creates and maintains grant-cycle calendar
Provides administration support for the grants process throughout all stages including reviewing and accepting grant awards and agreements; documenting all communication with funders; ensuring submitted application and reporting documentation meets all funders’ requirements; and maintaining accurate and timely records of applications and reports
Ensure Restore’s compliance with grant awards reporting, including completing reporting requirements, submitting progress reports, maintaining grant portals with accurate org information, and addressing any follow up questions from funders
Responsible for providing grant-related agenda materials for internal team meetings and external funder meetings
Grant Writing and Editing
Responsible for using catalog of current program descriptions to draft compelling proposals that meet funder guidelines, at the $50,000 level or below
Responsible for liaising with and managing the relationship with external grant writer consultants for grants above the $50,000 level
Responsible for working across teams to keep program descriptions, narratives, and outcomes current with grant project timelines
Grants Management
Maintains Restore’s databases to store grant files and grant records (e.g., Salesforce, Google Suite, grant portals), coordinates all grant assignments via Asana, and communications across teams via Slack
In partnership with Grants Finance Manager, develops and maintains an understanding of grants, grant compliance, and budget conditions in order to delegate appropriate grants maintenance actions in a timely manner to appropriate team members.
Development Support
As a member of the development team the IG Manager will also contribute to team-wide projects such as events and campaigns
Occasional night and weekend work may be required to provide support on team wide projects
Experience
3+ years experience in a relationship management and project management role including, but not limited to, creating project timelines and leading cross-department coordination of deliverables
Experience prospecting, proposal writing and submission, grants management, and project management
Requirements
Affirm the Nicene Creed and attend a Christian church
Excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with attention to detail and accuracy
Highly analytical and technical, with strong writing and financial acumen
Takes initiative and works independently; manages projects assigned through completion with minimal supervision
Ability to anticipate challenges, creatively problem-solve, and demonstrate flexibility in a moderately fast-paced environment while maintaining high work standards

Competitive salary range of $70,000- $74,000, commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and ability to excel in this role.
